I love working with paint, ink, charcoal, pastels, clay, wood, and other natural materials. Sticking to just one medium feels too limiting for me—I enjoy experimenting and letting inspiration guide the process. Each idea seems to ask for its own style, which hopefully keeps my work fluid and dynamic.

Rarely without my camera or iPhone, I’m always drawn to capturing the world around me. Photography has become both a way to document everyday wonders and a well of inspiration for my fine art projects. Much like my drawings and paintings, my lens is most often focused on nature—its patterns, details, and quiet beauty. I received formal training in photography and earned my degree from the VCU School of the Arts.
As the founder of Draffin Designs, I bring with me a formal education in Communication Arts and Design, coupled with a rich background as an award-winning designer and creative director. With a focus on Unique Decor and Graphic Design, Draffin Designs embodies my passion
and expertise in crafting visually captivating
and distinctive creations.
I’ve loved being creative for as long as I can remember. Art and writing have always been my center—whether I’m photographing, painting, drawing, sculpting, or writing short stories, poetry, or haiku. I've used creating things as a constant outlet for expression and a real source of satisfaction in my life.
Along the way, I’ve worn a lot of different hats in my professional journey—graphic designer, production manager, creative director, content creator, and marketing director. No matter the role, creativity has always been at the heart of what I do.
For me, creativity isn’t just part of the job—it’s a driving force. I’m grateful to have built a career where I can create every day, while still keeping space for the personal joy and fulfillment that comes from making art simply for the love of it.
Nature is a large influence in my personal work, often through small details and quiet things that might otherwise go unnoticed. My hope is to teach others to notice and look closely at the small things and appreciate them as a part of the greater whole.
